Nice thing about Jakes, you always tell when they’ve come calling.
Yeah, but I said “when”, not “who”. A bunch of guys with only themselves for strength and a demonstrated knowledge of how futile that strength is not inclined to identify their attackers…but unless crimes using knives instead of guns are common, police (if they investigate) will either deduce the victims either ran into Jakes or lost a fight with a lawnmower.
Everywhere else, Apollo doesn’t seem like much. Here, in panel one, he actually looks like the alpha wolf who’s wanted in multiple states. Have we ever heard him speak?
No blood. I imagine everyone survived this little raid. Otherwise, Apollo and his clan might have to skip town AGAIN. Notice Jackie didn’t flip out like EJ and stab him after she got smacked- didn’t even menace him with the knife. I’d say early exposure to blades and the elders’ guidance have produced a clan largely capable of handling foot-long knives responsibly.
You know, those knives are always present, but I’ve yet to see a knife wound on anyone. Particularly odd when you think about how much blood arcs and spatters figure in other comics.
