Chapter 5: Lit, page 105.

Her college-ruled notepads are filled with columns of “Mrs. Hypatia BJK” and little hearts. Over and over and over.

In other news, I hope to get back on track, now. Things have quieted down a little, over here.

In OTHER other news, I’m on Goop, or +, or Google+, or Google Plus, or whatever we’ve all decided to call it. it’s pretty fun. I blog there. You can read it here.

  1. I love the speech bubble embellishments. The music note and the sparkles look brilliant. Patti’s expression in the fourth panel is adorable/hilarious. In fact I think all her expressions in this scene have been great.

  2. Also it just occured to me that this could be the beginning of Templar turning into a harem comic based around Ben where all the girls have prominent facial markings. We’ve got freckles girl and now birthmark girl, all we need is a couple more and then they move in with him and boom, harem complete. I mean, Ben is pretty much an anime protagonist already. I think this could be a bold new direction for the comic.

      1. That pun…to paraphrase Breathless Mahoney, “I don’t know whether to kiss you or kill you…you must get that a lot.”

  3. Starting to look like it really is Ben… except this comic has a tendency to make obvious choices turn out to be nothing more but smoke screens.

    1. To be honest, if I got to read the rest of that story Ben was working on that started out as slash fiction and ended up violent murder fiction, I’d want to read more of it.

      1. I would like that too, but I don’t think we’ll get more than a snippet there, another here – and that’s at best, too.

    1. Yeah I noticed it too. I love the little cultural touches Spike sprinkles all over the comic. I wonder what “Butler’s Wake” refers to.

  4. I’m curious what kind of writing could make a girl like Hypatia swoon. And I wonder if I want to know that Ben actually wrote it. And yeah, the details really are pointing towards Ben, but I’m not going all in on that just yet.

    1. Probably boys fucking.

What am I saying, it’s definitely boys fucking. Slash and its disciples are an emergent property of the universe. There are self-replicating peptides in the Jovian atmosphere as we speak disturbing their normal Brownian motion to take the vague form of a fully naked Leonard Nimoy with wings. If anything, it would be weirder if there weren’t.

    1. Mesmer only just opened Ben’s laptop, so it can’t be him. Yes, I know it’s been a long time for us, but not for Templar. Ben’s only just left Kingdom Come. Besides, can you really see Mesmer stealing Ben’s work but still credit Ben?

    1. Oh, come now. Templar is full of gender-fluidity. It’s just RIGHT.

Honestly, as fucked up as Templar is, I really wanna live there, sometimes.

    2. What makes you think that? Valentine looks more masculine on this page than he has previously. And yeah, I definitely detect jealousy.

  5. I love Hypatia’s expression on the bottom left. It has that level of exaltation that I would typically respond with, “Dude stop making that face.”

  6. Okay, now I really really really want to make a copy-book. We should do this people. We should make it a thing. Go out, make copy-books!
