speaking as someone who has worked in a grocery store, if you never see the bottom of the freezers, it means that everything down there is expired
It is also quite likely that they would have it set up so that the newest stuff got put in the farthest (i.e. the stuff that would expire soonest would also be the easiest to get at so that it’s less likely to stay past its expiration date).

Speaking as someone who has seen what people like to “feed” to “gods” it really doesn’t matter.
